Each week your child will continue to have:
The way we learn spellings in school is changing to a more daily practised based scheme. Your child might also get a list of spellings to practise at home.
Your child will be given a username and password for Times Tables Rocks online. Please encourage them to use this regularly
Set on a Thursday.
Every week there will be a short piece of reading followed by a set of questions. These will be used for a class discussion the following Tuesday.
Ideally, children should read on a daily basis. Reading aloud helps them to become fluent, expressive and can help with their comprehension. Whether your child has been reading independently or not, it is very important to discuss and ask questions about his/her books, as this helps to develop their comprehension skills and deepen their overall understanding.
Set on a Thursday.
Maths homework will usually be revision of what we have covered in class that week. Your child should attempt to complete this independently
It would be great if you could continue to have a close interest in your child’s homework in order to help keep them motivated, to ensure it is completed punctually and to give them help and encouragement, when required. PLEASE SIGN AT THE BOTTOM OF EACH AND EVERY PIECE OF COMPLETED HOMEWORK to acknowledge that you have seen and approve of the work that your child has done.
