Welcome to the Friends of Marton-cum-Grafton Primary School 

 

The Friends is a friendly and inclusive association which brings parents & carers together to support the school in a positive and enjoyable way.

 

We organise fun events throughout the year all aimed at raising valuable funds to support the school. Getting involved with the Friends is a great way to meet other parents, form lasting friendships and make a real difference in the school community. 

 

Whether you’d like to join our committee or help out occasionally at events, we’d love to welcome you aboard!

 

The Friends of Marton-cum-Grafton primary school is a charity (1128905) run by parents to raise funds for the school.

 

The objective of the Friends is to enhance the education of pupils in the school, in particular
by:

  • Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school.
  • Engage in activities or provide facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.
  • Represent the views of parents and students to the school administration and the Board of Governors in relation to how funds are raised and spent. 
  • Set the Annual Fundraising Plan (AFP) at the start of each academic year. The AFP will include the fundraising target (£) for the year, and the indicative % split of funding between enrichment activities and core school provisions.
All parents/carers with a child at the school are automatically members of the Friends, but a core committee is responsible for ensuring the successful running of the Friends and effective spending of funds raised.

Fundraisers organised by the Friends include: Club100, Valentine’s Day event, Discos, Easter Event, Sports Day, Christmas activities, Non School Uniform Days, Raffles, Bake Sales, Coffee Mornings, Book Fair, Ice Cream Fridays, Pre-loved uniform and more.

If you have any ideas for fundraising for the school, please let us know or join our Friends committee meetings.  We are always looking for new ideas and additional parents to join our committee. Whatever you can contribute would be much appreciated!

 

We have a WhatsApp Community that is used for announcements, reminders for upcoming events along with key information you will want to know. It’s also a great place to ask questions (uniforms, clubs, PE days etc) and get to know other parents. We’d love you all to be part of this group.
