Each week your child will continue to have:
The children choose their spellings from the year5/6 spelling lists on a Monday. In pairs, they then test each other and choose a further 8-10. If they have misspelt any from the previous week these are carried forward.
Your child has been given a username and password for Times Tables Rockstars online. Please encourage them to use this regularly.
Ideally, children should read on a daily basis. Reading aloud helps them to become fluent, expressive and can help with their comprehension. Whether your child has been reading independently or not, it is very important to discuss and ask questions about his/her books, as this helps to develop their comprehension skills and deepen their overall understanding.
Set on a Friday.
Maths homework will usually be revision of what we have covered in class that week. Your child should attempt to complete this independently.
It would be great if you could continue to have a close interest in your child’s homework in order to help keep them motivated, to ensure it is completed punctually and to give them help and encouragement, when required.
