The School seeks to serve its children and local community.  The school aims to provide a distinctively Christian education for children aged 4 to 11 years, with priority being given to children who live and worship within the parishes of Great and Little Ouseburn with Marton-cum-Grafton and Whixley with Green Hammerton, Arkendale, Dunsforth and Aldborough.

 

Admissions to Reception year group

All children usually start school full time in the September of the school year in which they turn five. Parents do, however, have the option of requesting that their child attends school on a part-time basis until the term after their fifth birthday.

School Application Form for admission to main school

The Admissions Supplementary Information Form 2022 for main school can be found at the back of the Policy for Admission to main school in September 2019 in the link above and must be returned to school along with the Application Form for main school.

In addition to returning the Application Form for main school and the Admissions Supplementary Information Form for main school to the School Office at Marton-cum-Grafton Primary School, prospective parents must also apply to Admissions at North Yorkshire County Council via their website at  https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/apply-primary-or-junior-school-place

From 12 October 2023, you can apply for a school place for children born between:

1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017
1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020
15 January 2024
15 January 2024 is the closing date for online and paper applications. The closing date for providing evidence of exceptional social or medical reasons is also 15 January 2024.

18 February 2024
No changes can be made to applications before National Offer Day after 18 February 2024.

16 April 2024
16 April 2024 is National Offer Day for primary and junior schools. If you applied online, you can log in to our admissions portal to see your offered school place. You will also get an email during office hours telling you about your offered place. If you made a paper application, you should get a letter telling you about your offered school place.

1 May 2024 onwards
From 1 May 2024 onwards, we will consider any late applications or requests for changes to applications that we have not already processed.

20 May 2024
If you want to appeal for a primary or junior school place, you need to submit your appeal by 20 May 2023.

June to July 2024
Main primary and junior school admission appeals will be heard from June to July 2024.

31 December 2024

 

All the waiting lists we hold will end on 31 December 2024.

Admissions to other year groups

Applications for admission to classes other than Reception should be made online via the Local Authority’s in-year Common Application Form at http://www.northyorks.gov.uk/article/26373/Apply-for-an-in-year-school-place . In addition to this, the Application Form for main school found in the link above and the Admissions Supplementary Information Form 2019 from the back of the Policy for Admission (link above) should be completed and returned to school.
